The Next Chapter of The Historic Buxton Inn
Over the past several months, something remarkable has been happening behind the doors of The Historic Buxton Inn. Each day has brought another piece of history back to life.
What began as a vision to carefully preserve one of Ohio’s most treasured historic landmarks has become a labor of love—built on craftsmanship, respect for the past, and an unwavering commitment to the future.
Throughout the property, guests will notice countless thoughtful improvements. Historic guest rooms have been refreshed while preserving their timeless character and are now complemented by luxurious new mattresses designed to provide the comfort today’s travelers expect.
Outside, the transformation has been just as exciting. Our courtyard fountains are flowing once again, new walkways are taking shape, landscaping continues to mature, and gathering spaces are being reimagined for generations of memories yet to be made.
Craftsmanship Above Our Heads
Some of the most extraordinary work has taken place above us.
The Garden Room’s stunning new handcrafted copper roof is nearing completion. Constructed using many of the same techniques employed by skilled metalworkers more than a century ago, the roof includes more than 4,000 square feet of copper and over 130 individually fitted panels.
Countless hours of craftsmanship have created a roof designed to protect this historic landmark for generations to come. Custom gutters, downspouts, framing, and intricate architectural details continue that commitment to preserving the Inn’s historic integrity while preparing it for the future.
Thoughtful Improvements Throughout the Property
Behind the scenes, even more progress has taken place.
New lighting and electrical systems, updated bathrooms, beautifully refinished surfaces, restored stairways, fresh paint, custom metalwork, roofing, framing, trim work, decks, gathering spaces, and structural improvements have all been completed with one goal in mind: honoring The Buxton’s past while creating an exceptional experience for today’s guests.
A Celebration of Community
This summer also reminded us why this place means so much.
Our Fourth of July celebration brought hundreds of neighbors, friends, and visitors together to enjoy one of Granville’s favorite traditions. We were humbled by the incredible support from our community and grateful to the many local businesses and craftspeople who have partnered with us throughout this restoration.
Their generosity, talent, and dedication have played an important role in bringing The Buxton back to life.
And we’re just getting started.
Coming Soon
The Buxton Inn Restaurant & Bar will soon reopen, bringing historic charm, exceptional hospitality, and memorable dining experiences back to downtown Granville.
